About the Job
A local Plastics extrusion manufacturer is in need of a Quality Lab Technician. The shifts are 3-2 rotating 12 hour shifts with every other weekend off.

This position is relief fill in for another technician on Medical Leave. The laboratory position is through June 1st, with the possibility of permanent assignment (pending the outcome of the technician on leave). Provided your work performance and attendance is exemplary, the company will try to keep you beyond June 1st, 2026, although possibly in another department. Should you be selected to interview for the position, all details will be discussed and clarified prior to, or during the interview process.

Required Qualifications:
  • H.S Diploma
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Demonstrated positive attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with Windows and Web based software.
  • Demonstrated math skills; basic math and ability to calculate averages
  • Demonstrated HS level reading comprehension
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Able to work flexible shifts
  • Able to work overtime

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous Quality and or Laboratory experience, experience in a plastics lab is a plus.
  • Familiarity with plastic extrusion process

Job Description:  
Position Responsibilities:
  • The QA Lab Technician reports quality data and product concerns to the Machine Operators, Supervisors, Team Leaders, and QA Supervisor and QA Manager.  

Specific Responsibilities are:
  • Performs specific Quality Assurance testing requirements.                
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Work Instructions and customer specifications.
  • Maintain records as defined by the Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and customer specifications.
  • Responsible for supporting the QA Supervisor, QA Manager and promoting the quality functions within the plant.    
  • Responsible for practicing and promoting all Safety, ISO and SQF procedures and guidelines. 
  • Additional job functions as defined by management (housekeeping, certification letters, etc.).

Physical/Essential Functions:
  • Must be able to work 12 hours shifts
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, approximately 9 1/2 hrs. of each shift is standing
  • Must be able to climb steps
  • Must be able to climb stairs, approximately 4-8 trips up and down 15 stairs per shift
  • Must be able lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to walk around the plant and all production equipment to perform his/her duties.
